у 8 класі

You are welcome to the world of English. Today our lesson will be unusual. We are going to have an imaginary trip to different countries in the world. So, let us listen to our students, they will tell about the countries, its symbols and the most interesting facts.

The first country is the Netherlands.

 1: We invite you to Western Europe, to the North Sea, to the land of sand and lakes, welcome to the Netherlands.

 2: The Kingdom of the Netherlands...

 3: It is a constitutional monarchy. There is an industrial giant "Philips" and  of course… Amsterdam.

4: Each country is associated with something special. So, we are going to represent you the most famous symbols of the Netherlands.

 1: - Do you know what color is the symbol of the royal house?

 2: - Of course orange.  The Queen's Birthday is on the 30 April and people wear orange clothes, the streets are decorated with orange ribbons  and balloons .

 1: An Old windmill is the symbol of Holland.

 2: The traditional footwear of the Dutch is wooden shoes Klomps.

 3: The king of the local roads is a bicycle.

3: If you see a tulip somewhere it always reminds you about the Netherlands.

4: All the guests try to get into the most famous Keykenhof Park to watch the unforgettable flower fest.

The next country is Switzerland.

 Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! We  invite you to Switzerland!

 - Guten Tag, meine Damen und gospada!

 - Buon giorno! come stai!

 And why do you  greet in different languages?

-         Because Switzerland has three official languages. German, French and Italian.

-         "Switzerland is a paradise" - said  Queen Elizabeth during her visit to Bern.

-         The most ancient cities of Switzerland are Basel, Geneva and Lausanne. The capital  is  Bern. The population is 8mln.

-         The main dish here is  the famous Swiss fondue. It is made with local cheese

-         In 1912, an emigrant  Z. Davydoff from Kyiv opened a tobacco shop in Switzerland. Today this is world known firm Davidoff.

-         The symbol of tenderness around the world is chocolate of course, which was  invented in Switzerland.

-          Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world. It is also the largest financial center. Banks in Switzerland have become symbol of the country.

-          The Swiss do the best and the most expensive watches in the world. The most famous brands are Rolex, Chopard, Breguet, Patek Philippe

-         Oh!  France! The Country of love and beauty, romance and sensuality.

There are so many associations in our mind when we hear the word “France”

 - for someone, it is hot croissants,

- for others it is perfume Chanel,

- for someone it is a taste of  French wine ...

France is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

The capital of France is  the most romantic city  Paris.

Here we have the famous three hundred meter high Eiffel Tower

 Disneyland is well known all over the world.

Here you can relax on the Atlantic Ocean or Mediterranean Sea.

France  cuisine  impresses with its unsurpassed masterpieces

 A special pleasure is French cheese.

We can’t imagine France without flowers.There are so many flowers in the parks, gardens and squares.

The French adore lilies of the valley, roses,  lavenders and others.

All these and more wait for you in France! Hurry up and visit the most romantic, elegant, charming country in the world!

And the most youngest guests from different countries.

One of the famous reporters came to us. She wants to ask you some questions:

We haven’t spoken about our own motherland. Where are we from? What is our nationality? What is our state language? What is the capital of Ukraine? What  are the symbols of Ukraine?

 So many interesting and useful information. You see each country is unique. What a beautiful and wonderful world we have.

1.     Look at the tongue-twisters and try to read them quickly. What kind of professions did you find there? Who wants to choose these professions in future? Why?

v A good cook could cook as much cookies as a good cook who could cook cookies.

v A sailor went to sea to see, what he could see. And all he could see was sea, sea, sea.

·        Disciplined, brave, well-trained, patriotic, shoots accurately, strong, healthy, even-tempered, thinks for his motherland and himself.

·        Beautiful, talented, well-dressed, plays wonderfully.

 1. Choosing a career is simple: career planning is a multi-step process that involves learning enough about yourself and the occupations which you are choosing.

 2. I can’t make a living from my hobby: when choosing a career, it makes perfect sense to choose one that is related to what you enjoy doing in your spare time, in addition people tend to become very skilled in their hobbies.

3. Making a lot of money will make me happy: for many people enjoying what they do at work is much more important, however, you should consider earnings, among other things, when evaluating an occupation.

 4. Once I choose a career I’ll be stuck in it forever: if you are unsatisfied in your career for any reason, you can always change it. You’ll be in good company. Many people change careers several times over the course of their lifetimes.

 5. If my best friend (or sister, uncle or neighbor) is happy in a particular field, I will be too: everyone is different and what works for one person won’t necessarily work for another.
